It is important to understand that security attacks can occur on anyone's account, including yours. You are responsible for the security of your account; therefore it is extremely important that you take steps to protect your account information. Below are some security tips and suggestions.

Remember, bad security is similar to locking your front door and leaving the key under the doormat!

1. CHOOSE A GOOD PASSWORD:
• Do not use personal information such as a phone number, birthday, street address, social security number, etc.
• Do not use your company ID or other identification number.
• Choose numbers at random.
• Use different passwords for different websites. Even if you choose one great password, if someone gains access to one account they can enter all of your accounts.
  
  
2. SAFEGUARD YOUR PASSWORD:
   • Do not stick your password in your wallet.
   • Do not tape your password to your monitor, under your mousepad, or under your keyboard.
   • Memorize your password. If you write it down, quickly commit it to memory and destroy any written copies.
     
     
3. IF YOU MUST SHARE YOUR PASSWORD:
   • Change your password to a temporary password before sharing it with others.
   • Once the person you shared your password with gains the necessary access, change your password again.
     
     
4. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD OFTEN:
   • To increase security, we recommend changing your password often (at least several times each year).
     
     
5. USING A PUBLIC COMPUTER:
   • Public computers are shared by many users -- be smart and logout before you walk away.
   • Be careful when using computers in public areas such as a library, school, or internet cafe.
     
     
6. ALWAYS USE A PASSWORD:
• All computers and accounts should be protected with a password. We highly recommend you setup all accounts with passwords including your home computer (making it difficult for others to hack).
  
  
7. PROGAMS THAT MANAGE PASSWORDS:
   • There are many programs available to help you remember your passwords, but keep in mind there programs have varying degrees of security protection.
     
     
8. USE SECURED SITES:
   • Make sure when logging into a website that it uses SSL and is secure. Check with your web browser help section on how to determine if a site is secure.
   • TNT utilizes secure SSL on all login pages.
     
     
9. PHISHING:
   • Phishing is where someone creates a website that appears similar to a trusted site (ebay.com, amazon.com, etc.) but the real goal is to steal your login ID, password, and other account information.
   • Always be cautious of logging into a website after clicking on a link in an email. It is always best to type the URL into the browser yourself.
     
     
10. KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION CURRENT:
    • Make sure your contact information is up-to-date on all secure websites so if there is a break-in to your account, the company will have the ability to contact you if necessary.
